Is there any way to make a bootable iso image file from the files that I have from my Windows installation DVD. Basically due to scratches it's not working properly. And I only have this DVD genuine Windows 7 which is very important for me. And now only left with the copied files from the Windows Disk. Please Help ASAP.

Hi sanyam,

I totally get your point and what you are talking about and alsoJonathan Marlowe I totally agree with you that he can download the iso file from Microsoft. But I think Microsoft has disabled this feature for downloading windows 7 iso.

But if still, someone wants to create iso from windows dvd files, then its pretty easy.

You have follow some step & right tool:-

1. Download and install Imgburn
2. Select Windows installation files or folder
3. Now configure the bootable settings
4. Now select the output directory for the iso file.
5. Now click on start.

Please reply If you still face any problem and you can follow the original source.

Can you not just download a new iso from Microsoft?

You can download a Windows 7 iso here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows7

And you can try and recover the DVD data with Linux as described here and there will be programmes for Windows https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/77834/how-to-rip-a-scratched-dvd-video-a-cdparanoia-for-dvd... Sometimes, polishing the DVD and trying in different players gets results.

You have absolutely given the correct steps to create a bootable drive, but this can be complicated... I did a quick google search and found this link

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

It looks like you just have to type in your windows key and it will send you to the download site... I don't have any Win7 machines on the network anymore, so I can't test, sadly... however, getting this ISO would be much easier than going through the full creation

Thank youJonathan Marlowe so much for helping me out but i have all created the iso file using the steps mentioned above. See you soon.
